Marijuana is a very harmful and illicit drug. It has different names such as pot, herb, weed, grass, boom, Mary Jane, gangster, chronic etc. Many children are using Marijuana, and most of them don’t know the negative effects of Marijuana. Memory, judgment and perception are effected by marijuana abuse. Marijuana affects the students performance at school, in academics, in sports, or clubs. Excessive Marijuana abuse makes you loose interest at school and work.

You can see this in athletes when they abuse Marijuana. Their performance gets affected their timing, movements, and coordination will also get affected. Judgment and decision making can be affected by the use of Marijuana. Chemicals of Marijuana also affects the person’s sight, ability to hear, smell, taste and feel things. Because of these reasons a student can loose interest in schools, sports, and in other activities.

So if you compare the drug using students and students who do not use drugs in school, students who do not use drugs perform well in every activity. So you may lose joyful childhood days and good career.

So it is better to avoid using drugs lead normal, happy and successful life with your friends and your family.

Significant Number of Americans Think Small Busineses Can Change Economy

Small businesses are believed to play a lead role in changing the U.S. Economy. A significant percentage Americans (nearly 2/3) believe that it will not be federal government, but small businesses that will turn around the economic crisis happened due to recession.

According to a Wakefield research survey, which was conducted on 1024 representative Americans stated that more than 70 percent of Americans think small businesses are more likely to turn around the economy than the federal government of U.S. However, only a very small number of respondents (1 in 10) took this responsibility into their own hands and started a business since the start of the recession. Almost two-thirds of Americans felt that the federal government has been ineffective in creating jobs in the past year and they believe it will be the same case in the nest year also. Only 7 percent of respondents were very confident on the government to create considerable jobs in the next year.

How Can You Read Data from the Barcode?

The data of the barcode is read by barcode readers or barcode scanners. The barcode scanner has a light source, a lens and the light sensor. The sensor is used for converting the optical impulses to electric ones. All the scanners consists of a decoder for determining the data provided by the sensor and for sending the barcode’s data to the output port of the scanner.

Sometimes these barcode readers are termed as the price scanner or the point of scale scanner. The main components of the barcode readers are the scanner, a decoder and the cable. The barcode works on the principle that when a beam of light is being imposed on the barcode then the amount of the light which is reflected is being measured using the computer.

There are five basic types of barcode readers like pen wands, slot scanners, laser scanners, image scanners and the CCD scanners.

Pen wands: It is most durable and cheaper one. It is the simplest one and the user should handle it carefully in order to get scanned. The pen wand is a hand held scanner and it is to be hold properly against the barcode and it has to be moved very quickly.

Slot scanner: It is a stationary one and the item with the barcode has to be pulled across the slot by using the hand. For scanning the barcodes on the identification cards these slot scanners are used.

Laser scanner: There are two types of laser scanners. They can be hand held or the stationary one. This type of scanner can scan the barcode which is at the 24 inches away. This consists of the mirrors and the lenses for reading. Each time the scan is done it will take 500 readings to get the accurate one.

Image scanner: This is also called as the camera reader. A small video camera is used for taking the image of the barcode and by the use of different technologies the image can be decoded. The cost of the image scanner is less than the cost of the laser scanner. This scanner can read the data from 3 to 9 inches far away.

CCD scanner: Charge Couple Device scanner is used in the retail sales. It is some what better when compared to the pen wand. It is to be held very nearer to the barcode and it is in the shape of the gun. Each time the barcode is being scanned for several times which in turn reduce the error. The main drawback of a CCD scanner is that it cannot read a wider barcode.

3G Mobile – What is it?

3G is now very frequently used when referring to mobile telecom. What exactly is it and how is it different from regular mobile telecom?  This is something that has passed my mind several times earlier. Here is something from my end to help you understand the topic.

This small write up should help understand this International Mobile Telecommunications-2000 (IMT-2000), commonly referred as 3G / 3rd Generation, is a set of standards for mobile telecom matching specifications by the International Telecommunication Union. This includes UMTS,  CDMA2000 and also the non-mobile wireless standards DECT and WiMAX.

Technically, GSM EDGE standard satisfies the IMT-2000 specification. However, EDGE phones are typically not branded 3G. Services for 3G include video calls, wireless data and wide-area wireless voice telephone. All of these services are made possible in mobile environment by 3G.

When compared to 2G and 2.5G services, 3G allows simultaneous use of data and speech services and higher data rates. This higher data rates mean at least 200 kbit/s peak bit rate to fulfill to IMT-2000 specification. It is common with today’s 3G systems to reach up to 14.0 Mbit/s on the downlink and 5.8 Mbit/s on the uplink in real life situations.
