Thousands Of Dinosaur Footprints Uncovered In China

Archaeologists in China have discovered more than 3,000 dinosaur footprints, in an area, which is estimated to be the world’s vast grouping of fossilized bones corresponding to the ancient animals.

The footprints are supposed to be more than 100 million years old and were explored after a three-month excavation (digging) at a gully in Zhucheng in the eastern province of Shandong, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.

According to the report, the footprints is extended from four to 32 inches in length, and associated to at least six different types of dinosaurs, along with tyrannosaurs.

Wang Haijun, a Chief Engineer at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, told that the prints are faced the same direction and Wang added that this signifies a possible migration or a panic escape by plant-eating dinosaurs after an attack by predators.

Archaeologists have identified dinosaur fossils at nearly 30 sites in Zhucheng, called”dinosaur city.” The region has experience two bigger digs since 1964, and experts disclose the discovery of so many dinosaurs in such a dense area will provide clues regarding how the animals became extinct millions of years ago. Plans are made to build a fossil park in the area.
