Mica heaters are efficient and are economical heating solutions to many industries. Mica heaters can attain a maximum sheath temperature of 9000 degree Fahrenheit, but with different electric termination styles. Mica heaters are successfully used for many applications, mostly used in plastic industries. Mica heaters made by Bucan are made up of different types of top grade mica. To create a balance between the insulating characters of mica and the ease of transferring heat from heating core to the barrel of machine, the thickness of each layer of mica is carefully selected. The resistant wire ribbon is used in a Bucan micro heaters. Different alley are considered for different applications.
Ceramic band heaters are used because of their long life and less wattage. These band heaters are constructed with stainless steel shroud enclosing high quality ceramic knuckles through which the coiled high temperature nickle-chromium element wire passes. Less heat escapes to the air and less wattage is required to maintain barrel temperature. As the external surface is cooler, the heater is safe. The ceramic heaters gives significantly less heat to ambient air than the mica band heaters. These heaters are easy to install and remove. In these, all materials used are rated to operate at very high temperature. In ceramic band heaters heat transfer takes place by both ways – radiation and conduction.
